Expression of Interest: Research into Countering Violent Extremism

The Global Issues Practice Centre (GIPCEN) invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified researchers (including students) and/or practitioners to undertake short-term (2-3 month) research projects into various subjects of interest in Countering Violent Extremism (CVE).

Research projects will be aligned to CVE strategies as defined in the UN’s Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism 1 and may address any of the following topics of interest:

1. The role and contribution of ‘Formers’ (former extremists) and/or Survivors of extremist attacks
2. Preventions or Interventions in CVE
3. Deradicalisation and Empowerment pathways
4. CVE Practices and Human Rights
5. Social Media and Online Narratives/Counter Narratives
6. Youth Engagement
7. Creative works in CVE

Up to THREE projects will be funded ranging from a minimum of AU $2,000 to a maximum of $10,000.
