APR.Intern Industry Launch

APR is launching the WA Internship Program with an event called ‘Navigating the Funding Environment’ on Thursday, 4 April at the Perth City Library, 3.30pm. The event will be a good opportunity to get some event management volunteering experience. This will also be a good networking opportunity with WA Industries and academics and HDR’s from all five University representatives.

iPREP WA PhD student applications - closed

We are currently recruiting for the next round of iPREP commencing 4th March 2019. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to earn some money ($3,000) and gain valuable industry skills.

What is iPREPWA?

iPREP is an Industry and PhD Research Engagement Program that provides PhD students the opportunity to gain industry experience while using skills gained in their PhD to solve an industry problem.

What will I be doing?

If successful, you will be working in small inter-disciplinary teams with other PhD students from the 5 universities in WA. You will work on a project full time for 6 weeks at a participating organisation. In previous rounds, students have worked with CSBP Fertilisers, CSIRO, BankWest, Water Corporation, CBH Group, Department of Culture and the Arts, Department of Health and CingleVue. iPREP is open to all industries and disciplines!

Who is eligible?

1.PhD candidates who have submitted their thesis for examination by Monday 28th January AND will not have your degree conferred (all revisions approved and degree awarded by the Board of Examiners) until after the completion of the iPREP program (Friday 12th April).

2.Domestic-enrolled PhD candidates who have Confirmation of Candidature and have consumed at least 2 EFTSL (2 years equivalent of study).

How to Identify and Work Successfully with Industry Partners

This workshop will take the researcher through identifying appropriate industry partners, how to engage, ask the right questions, develop a successful agreement and work on a grant application together.
