At ECU, we are committed to expanding the skills and attributes that will give you a competitive edge when you look for employment. One way is to participate in volunteering opportunities to build your self-confidence and demonstrate leadership, responsibility and community engagement.

In Semester 2, ECU will host 46 HDR students from Jiangxi Normal University (JXNU). The students will attend a 12-week research training study tour. We are looking for volunteer buddies to provide support and friendship to JXNU students. A key feature will be accompanying students on off-campus activities as they visit some of Perth’s favourite attractions. Transport, meals and entry fees for volunteers will be covered by ECU.

If you volunteer and attend at least 3 off-campus activities, you will receive a signed letter from the Vice-Chancellor and a Certificate of Appreciation. These will be a valuable addition to your Resume and LinkedIn profile.

iPREP WA Industry Expressions of Interest NOW OPEN

The next round of the Industry and PhD Research Engagement Program (iPREP WA) is coming up soon and we are looking for organisations to host multi-disciplinary teams over a six week period. Eligible PhD students from the five Western Australian universities, who are at the late stage of their candidature, will be selected, based on relevant skills set, to work on your business problem or project.

If your organisation is interested in being part of the next round, 7th October to 15th November 2019, please email iprepwa@ecu.edu.au or visit the iPREP WA website for more information: https://www.iprep.edu.au/

“As first time iPREP WA participants, we were unsure exactly what to expect, but we’ve been blown away by the entire experience. They quickly assimilated into our team and rapidly came to grips with the complexity of both the category and the task at hand. Each one brought a different set of skills and perspectives which, in combination, proved absolutely invaluable. All-in-all it was a privilege having them in the office and it’s fair to say that in just six weeks, they’ve helped move the business forward 12 months.” (Colin Mackay-Coghill, Partner and Head of Strategy, Ideology)
