Opportunity: Applied Industry Innovation Research Project

Published 28 Sep 2016, 11:32 am, by Narelle Jones

Looking for new challenges this year and in 2017 for the Summer break or Academic year?
Looking to apply your knowledge in industry?
Interested in connecting with innovative firms in Australia?
Keen to pick up or apply research skills in an industry-related setting?

  • An opportunity exists to conduct research on how innovations in technology are disrupting work in firms and industries. The rapid technological change has had significant effects on skills and jobs in certain industries (e.g. Nokia's loss of 24,000 employees in the last 15 years due to disruption by smart phones).
  • Opportunities exist for conducting research from many different dimensions and using many different methodologies including longitudinal and case studies.
  • You will work as individuals or teams and be supervised by experienced researchers. You will conduct research on firms and training providers that are innovators in advanced manufacturing, mining, construction and knowledge-intensive services. You will also have opportunities to interact with innovators and stakeholders in the innovation system of Western Australia (e.g. State Government, Universities, Research Institutes, Local Councils, Venture Capital Firms and Industry Associations.
