Casual Position: Events Management & Marketing in music industry

We are looking for a student to work on a casual basis to manage the promotion of dance music events and parties, organisation of dj bookings and related duties such as contracts, admin, travel and accommodation arrangements, venue bookings and liaison with managers and agents. Part of the job will also be to manage the Grooveyard studio time table, dealing with bookings, cancellations and fees. You will also be responsible for advertisement and promotion of the studio which includes Dj lessons, production lessons, mixing and mastering services, standard hourly/daily rental and much more. 

You will be in charge of social media marketing including the regular updates and management of all relevant pages including facebook, instagram and twitter. Events management or marketing experience would be preferred but not essential. Ideally you will be studying within this field and have knowledge and ideas to bring to the table in order to grow business. Operating within the Graduate Research School (GRS), the SOAR Centre is a peer-to-peer support service run by and for Higher Degree by Research and Honours candidates.

Volunteer Opportunity for Researchers

Future Directions International, in partnership with Edith Cowan University, is pleased to offer short-term volunteer placements. We invite high-achieving final-year and postgraduate students to expand and apply the research and analytical skills acquired during their studies.

Applicants should submit an application to the relevant FDI Research Manager, as noted below. Applications must contain the student’s curriculum vitae, a covering letter (stating their preferred research programme) and a recent sample of their written work.

Entry to the Volunteer Programme is highly competitive and applicants will need to demonstrate:

    What’s Your Research?

    All PhD, Masters, Integrated PhD and Professional Doctorate students are encouraged to take part in the ECU Three Minute Thesis competition. ECU finals will be held in Research Week (18 - 23 September 2017) and there are some great cash prizes to be won!

    Your challenge? Three minutes and one PowerPoint slide to present your research to a non-specialist audience.

    Participants will receive specialised training and support to focus on the issues and outcomes of their theses and communicate their research to new audiences.

    Interested candidates should sign up by the end of June to take advantage of the training and support on offer.
