Volunteering for the tech savvy

The Baptistcare Aged Care Facility is also looking for some ECU student volunteers to be a part of their new, interactive virtual volunteering program. Volunteers will be connected with residents virtually to help them stay connected during isolation. If you’re a good listener and enjoy talking to seniors, this position is for you.

To participate all you’ll need is your own smart device or camera phone, a willingness to use Skype, Facetime of Zoom, and be able to commit half an hour, twice a week to speaking to residents.

Online orientation and training is provided by Baptistcare. You can learn more about the Baptistcare Virtual Volunteering Program here.

You can also explore more ways to give back and volunteer with ECU here. Complete your expression of interest to join ECU’s Volunteer Squad to stay in the loop about new volunteering opportunities through our fortnightly volunteering newsletter.
