Calling all angels - Volunteer Trauma Recovery Assistants Needed with Angelhands

What Angels Do:

Trained trauma recovery assistants provide life-changing support to people coming to angel hands offices through their delivery of angelhands’ unique Befriending Program.

Angels Get Unique Training:
We have limited places on our training programme for volunteer mentors to assist in ‘Trauma Recovery’. Through our befriending program, we will train you to enhance the lives of people recovering from extreme trauma.

Our specialised training program was developed and is delivered by Dr Ann O’Neill. In return you would be required to commit to delivering our Befriending Program over a period of one day per week for 12 months (approx. 48 days, 6 hours per week); providing empathy, and support to promote people’s mastery of their trauma systems.

You need to hold as a minimum a certificate level qualification in Human Services or Diploma in Counselling, or be working toward a degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, or the like.

Training Details:
Training dates are in February 2020 on the 4th, 5th and 6th (TBA) in Maylands.

The ECU Health & Wellness Expo is here again and we need some dedicated ECU volunteer to help us out!

The ECU Health & Wellness Expo is running on both Joondalup and Mount Lawley Campus.

Joondalup, Tuesday 15 October 10am - 2pm

Mount Lawley, Thursday 17 October 10am - 2pm

We are looking for 20 dedicated ECU volunteer to assist with the below jobs:

  •  Registration table set up
  • Stall set-up
  • Staff and student sign in's
  • Distribution of free bags and passports
  • Assistance with answering attendees questions
  • Greeting exhibitors
  • Parking attendance
  • Stall and Venue pack down

This volunteer opportunity is a great way for you to network and grow relationships with staff, students and external organisations.

You will also receive an official ECU Volunteer Certificate to add to your CV and LinkedIn profiles to boost your employability outcomes.

Salvation Army Morning Outreach Service

Every morning from 6:30 AM a team of Salvation Army volunteers arrive at a central location in Perth to prepare a food van for the homeless.

Fair Game Australia are a fantastic non-for-profit foundation that assist underserviced communities in Australia with Recycled Sports Equipment, Health Education and Fitness Programs. To assist Fair Game in their mission we are collecting AFL balls, basketballs, soccer balls and Junior football and soccer boots. We are encouraging staff and students to donate as many of these items as possible with drop off being Student Hub on all three Campus’. The items will then be packed at the Volunteer Expos by a group of student volunteers ready to take to Fair Game HQ
